Painting a car in the garage, of course, brings some inconvenience, but it makes it possible to save money. Therefore, if you do not have the desire and ability to drive your car into a spray booth, you can perform these works in a garage. To do this, you just need to know a little trick.
Instructions
Step 1
The elements of the car prepared for painting must be pre-primed, sanded and degreased; garage - carefully cleaned from debris and dust.
Step 2
First, dilute the pigment with the supplied solvent. For a perfect finish, use a 3-layer coat. Therefore, for the first layer, add no more than 50% solvent to the pigment. Such a layer will protect against unpleasant defects that can form from swelling at the places of transitions of soil and old paint, as well as from stains that appear as a result of the ingress of microsorins. Apply a layer evenly and let dry well. Drying usually takes about 15 minutes, but if it is cold in the garage, then extend the time to half an hour.
Step 3
Then prepare the paint for the second coat. Now dilute the pigment with a solvent in a ratio of one to one. For accurate measurement of paint, use measuring jars, which can be purchased from the same place as the pigment itself. Apply a layer quickly, let dry. And with the same composition, go through the third, final layer.
Step 4
After complete drying, proceed to varnish the part. To do this, add about 5% solvent to a part of the varnish, stir thoroughly and fill the part with this mixture. Do not be alarmed if the varnish falls in small grains - it should be so. Now wait 10-30 minutes, depending on how fast the varnish dries. The time depends on the temperature in the garage. In an inconspicuous place, check by touch - if the varnish is smeared, then it is too early to cover with a second layer. During this time, prepare the mixture for the second layer. Now dilute the varnish with a large amount of solvent - about 15%. And feel free to fill in the detail. Make sure that no smudges form, which will be impossible to remove. Leave the part to dry completely.
Step 5
When carrying out painting work, remember that the temperature of the air, the temperature of the part and the paint must be the same. This is the most important condition for a successful result. Therefore, do not heat paint or car parts separately. For work, be sure to use a protective mask and a special paint suit. Also use a sticky napkin - this way there will be less debris in the lower layers of the part to be painted.
