Changing the oil in an automatic transmission (automatic transmission) on time means prolonging the life of the car and saving yourself from expensive repairs. Owners of a car produced by the Toyota automobile concern can change the oil in the automatic transmission in three different ways.

Necessary

  • - oil for automatic transmission (8-12 liters);
  • - a pallet for draining the waste drain;
  • - garage pit or repair overpass.

Instructions

Step 1

Drive your car onto an overpass or garage pit. Unscrew the drain plug in the automatic transmission crankcase, having previously substituted the pan for draining the used oil.

Step 2

Make sure that any oil that can flow out of the box by gravity ends up in the sump. Replace the plug and fill with new oil. Please note that this method is called partial. The oil in the automatic transmission only changes by 30-40%. The advantages of the partial method - all work is carried out independently, a small amount of oil is consumed.

Step 3

If the partial method does not suit you, contact the service station (service station) There, using special equipment, a 100% oil change in the gearbox will be carried out. Simultaneously with the replacement, you can also flush the automatic transmission. The quality and consistency of the poured oil can be controlled visually through a special technical window. Pay attention to the not obvious pros and cons of this method: professionals work with your car, a complete oil change in the unit is carried out, but the repair becomes significantly more expensive. In addition, oil consumption for replacement increases to 10-12 liters.

Step 4

If the price or quality of work at the service station does not suit you, change the oil yourself. To do this, warm up the car after driving about 5 km, and then drive into a pit or overpass. Drain the automatic transmission oil by first screwing the drain plug, and then carefully disconnect the box pan. Then remove the oil filter, blow it out and flush it with gasoline. Take the drip tray and wash it off the old oil residue. Install all parts of the automatic transmission in place, and fill with fresh oil. Then drain the oil from the cooling radiator, connect the hoses to the oil channels, the other end of which is placed in any suitable drain container. Start the engine and look at the color of the pouring oil. As soon as the new oil displaces the old one, turn off the engine.
