Removing the elements of the fuel system on the Lada Priora engine is required to replace units or modernize them, as well as to check the operation of the fuel injectors and replace them.
A very popular car today is the Lada Priora. Quite good value for money, attractive appearance and high performance. Plus, there are cars with various configurations on the market. Not only do you buy wheels with an engine, but also power steering, air conditioning, full power accessories, good music. And the price, when compared with imported cars of the same class, is much lower. In terms of service, Priora is much cheaper than its imported counterparts.
Fuel system Priora
Forced fuel injection, which has already become a classic in the automotive industry, is used on Lada Priora cars. Fuel system composition:
• gas tank;
• pump and filter located in the tank;
• fuel line;
• pressure regulator;
• fuel rail;
• four nozzles;
• throttle valve;
• intake manifold;
• electronic engine control system.
The work is based on the fact that when the ignition is turned on, the electric fuel pump starts to work, which builds up pressure in the rail. Further, when the engine is cranked with a starter, the electronic control unit opens and closes the injectors, the fuel-air mixture enters the combustion chambers, according to the operation scheme.
Once fuel enters the combustion chamber, a spark is generated between the spark plug electrodes. The fuel ignites and the engine starts. The injectors are solenoid valves; the control unit is responsible for their operation. He is also responsible for the quality of the mixture, the ratio of air and gasoline. Sometimes problems arise and you have to disassemble the fuel system for repairs.
Removing the intake manifold
Remove it either for replacement or when repairing the ramp and nozzles. It will not be superfluous to polish the intake manifold, due to this, it will be easier for the fuel to enter the combustion chambers. Consequently, the power will increase. It is necessary to start work by lowering the pressure in the fuel system. This can be done by removing the fuse on the fuel pump and starting the engine.
Wait until the engine stalls by itself. This will indicate that there is no gasoline left in the system and the pressure has dropped. Now disconnect the battery and proceed to dismantle the system elements. First you need to remove the decorative cover, which is located on the top of the engine. It attaches at three points. Then proceed to dismantle the air filter. Remove the pipes that fit it.
Having freed up space, you can start removing the throttle assembly. There will be no problems with its dismantling, the main thing is not to unscrew the screws securing the damper. Otherwise, if you tighten and secure it poorly, it may fall out and go into the engine. Then you will have to carry out large-scale repairs, which can be compared with major ones. After removing the throttle assembly, you can begin to remove the intake manifold. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
