There are two ways to remove tinting: contact a service center or get rid of it yourself. Of course, the easiest and most reliable way is to contact a specialized center, where professionals can quickly and easily remove the tinting from the car, but you will have to pay for this. And since not every car owner can afford this pleasure, you can use the second method and remove the tint film on your own.

Instructions

Step 1

At first glance, it seems that the procedure for removing the film itself is very simple and does not require special skills. All that is required is to hook the film with a knife or blade and separate it from the glass. But even here some peculiarities cannot be ignored. The tinting itself is attached with a special glue to the glass, and if it is removed incorrectly, then the remnants of the glue mass can become a real problem, collecting dust and fixing fingerprints on the glass. And getting rid of this glue is very difficult.

Step 2

Before removing, the film must be heated so that the adhesive is removed along with the polymer layer. For this, a building hair dryer is used, but if it is not there, then you can take a regular one. It is important to remember that the hair dryer cannot be placed close to the glass, otherwise the glass may crack. Remember that the temperature should not exceed 40 degrees, otherwise the film may melt.

Step 3

After heating the place of removal, the film is pry off with a blade and gently evenly moving from top to bottom is pulled towards the car door. Take your time, warm up the tinting with a hairdryer no more than 10-15 centimeters, then pull the polymer off the same 10-15 centimeters and reheat it.

Step 4

If a little glue still remains, then you can get rid of it with a glass cleaner with alcohol in the composition or with a cleaning solution, which is used mainly in service centers. When choosing a cleaning solution, pay attention to the composition; you cannot take those that contain phenolic compounds.

Step 5

Chinese tint films, which are distinguished by a very thin polymer and relatively low light transmittance, can be washed off with a solution of ammonia and ordinary laundry soap. Just apply the liquid on a waffle towel and leave on the glass for 10 minutes, then rub with a dishwashing sponge, if the tinting is washed off, continue removing, if not, your choice is a hairdryer and patiently pulling the film.
