Despite significant increases in fines, car tinting is still a popular tuning element. In addition to the aesthetic side, the film serves as protection from the sun, hides objects left in the car from prying eyes, keeps the glass from completely crumbling upon impact.
Necessary
- - tinting film;
- - detergent;
- - spray gun;
- - a scraper for squeezing out water;
- - building hair dryer.
- - paper knives.
Instructions
Step 1
Choose a tinting film that complies with GOST, otherwise you may have problems communicating with the traffic police. According to the norms, all glasses must have a certain light transmittance. It is forbidden to tint the windshield.
Step 2
Purchase a high quality tint film. There are many cheap Chinese counterparts on the market now. Such a film may not have quality certificates, it is poorly applied to glass, and poorly transmits light even with the stated permitted standards. Films of good quality are supplied to the Russian market by manufacturers from the USA (3M, SunTek and others). The tint film can be not only black. There are films of gray, green, red colors. The transparent film protects the motorist from UV rays. But the tinting of glass with a mirror film is prohibited in our country.
Step 3
Apply tint film only in a clean, dry place - garage, underground parking. It is not recommended to do this outdoors. First, dust particles can get under the film. And secondly, in the heat and cold, the film does not lay down correctly and crack.
Step 4
Wash the car completely. Wipe the glasses additionally with a detergent sprayed from a spray bottle. Scrape off the water with a rubber squeegee.
Step 5
Cut the film. If the glass is slightly curved, wrinkles may occur when the film is applied. To avoid this, first simply spread the film on the glass. Smooth it out with a scraper, and push the excess air to the center. Move the formed bump of air down and warm it with a hairdryer until it disappears completely. After that, the film can be finally adjusted to the required size and cut.
Step 6
The film is applied to glass under the technology "on water". To do this, moisten the inside of the glass with cold water from a spray bottle. Remove the protective layer from the film and attach it to the glass. Begin to flatten the film on the glass, scooping up the water with a scraper. On the side windows, an un-tinted strip of 3-5mm is left on top.
