An unpleasant sweetish-sugary smell appears in the car if a coolant leak has occurred in the cooling system. This is the initial stage of the problem and is easy to deal with. But if the temperature sensor shows an ever higher degree, steam begins to flow through the radiator grill, and liquid drips from the radiator - definitely, you need to change the radiator. You can easily do it yourself.
Necessary
To replace a radiator, you need a convenient place for repairs, a new radiator, heat transfer fluid, simple tools and household gloves
Instructions
Step 1
Let your car cool down.
Step 2
Open the hood. Carefully loosen the clamps on the coolant hoses.
Step 3
Disconnect the hoses from the nozzle so that liquids do not accidentally mix with each other.
Step 4
Place an unnecessary basin or other container under the radiator and allow the radiator to drain.
Step 5
Pull out the radiator. To do this, you need to unfasten the clasps.
Step 6
Take a close look at the old and new radiator - make sure they are the same and you won't have any problems with the installation.
Step 7
Replace the new radiator. Do not damage its plates, this may impair heat transfer.
Step 8
Buckle clamps, reinstall hoses and fittings.
Step 9
Refill with heat transfer fluid and let the vehicle stand.
Step 10
Start the engine. If there are no leaks, then everything is in order, you have successfully replaced the old radiator with a new one.
