Necessary

  • - screwdriver;
  • - soldering iron;
  • - building hair dryer;
  • - finishing material (for example leatherette);
  • - putty for plastic;
  • - primer for plastic;
  • - putty knife;
  • - glue;
  • - a brush for applying glue.

Instructions

Step 1

Remove the steering shaft cover, shield. Pull out the protective casing of both speakers by squeezing out the plastic holders. Remove the bolts securing the shelf and glove compartment housing. Unscrew the speedometer nut. Pull the meter cable out of the dashboard.

Step 2

Take out the upper insert. Turn out through the openings of the glove box and the shield 4 nuts of the upper fastening of the dashboard and 2 screws of the lower fastening, remove the panel and insert. Disconnect the negative terminal from the battery and disconnect the devices from the electrical circuit.

Step 3

Remove the appliances and check for cracks or chips. Inspect connections and contacts. Rebuild them if necessary using a soldering iron.

Step 4

Clean the surface of the torpedo with soapy water or thinner. Warm it up with a construction hairdryer, remove all burrs.

Step 5

Repair cuts and surface imperfections with a putty knife and plastic putty. Before applying the filler, treat the surface with a special primer.

Step 6

Start pasting from the highest point of the torpedo - the visor. Apply the adhesive to the visor and to the inside of the selected finishing material, spreading it evenly with a brush.

Step 7

Glue the material to the surface of the visor. Warm up the glued section of the torpedo with a hairdryer to improve fixation. This must be done very carefully so as not to damage the material.

Step 8

Paste over the entire surface of the torpedo using this principle. If you need to stretch the leatherette, heat it with a hair dryer. Smooth it to the surface with a trowel (with corners ground off) to remove wrinkles, and then reheat to fix the glue. Cut off excess material. Assemble the torpedo in the reverse order.
