ABS is a system of sensors that control the speed of the vehicle and the speed of rotation of the wheels of the car. Recently, every now and then there have been cases when blocks are delivered to service centers for repair after several unsuccessful repair attempts. Many of them go to the trash heap and cannot be restored. Therefore, experts recommend that you start repairing the ABS only with complete confidence in the initial result.
Necessary
- - solder;
- - soldering iron;
- - office knife poxipol;
- - thin wire;
- - a needle;
- - microscope / magnifying glass.
Instructions
Step 1
Before starting to repair the ABS, remember that the most common problem is the malfunction of the wheel sensors (the elements that are most susceptible to external influences), although if, according to the diagnostic results, it is the sensor that is faulty, then in this case it is not a fact that the problem lies in it … In this case, check its circuit to the block (remember, the resistance of the sensor circuit should be the same for four wheels and be from 0.5 to 2 kΩ).
Step 2
If during the check you find that the lamp goes out on a car that is standing and lights up as soon as the movement starts, then the defect consists in mechanical damage to the parts of the system that induce a signal in the sensors. If the diagnostics cannot “see” the block, or if there are too many errors, moreover, they do not correspond to the data of the detailed check - most likely, the faults are located in the block itself.
Step 3
First dismantle the electronic part of the ABS unit. To do this, disconnect the connector, then unscrew the 6 torx bolts. Put the removed block on the table and carefully, along the red line, trim it with a clerical knife. Be very careful and careful - if the knife slips into the middle of the block - this will destroy it.
Step 4
Remove the cover, under which you will see a board with a contact group on the side of the connector. Gently and slowly wiggle the aluminum, thick conductors with a needle - carefully tear off the fallen off contacts, instead of which solder the previously prepared pieces of wire. Stick the lid back on the Poxipol and enjoy the result!
