There are a lot of car accidents on the roads every day. The owners of the damaged cars face the problem of assessing the damage to the car and receiving from the insurance company the amount sufficient to restore the car.
Instructions
Step 1
Pass an examination in the insurance company of the person responsible for the accident or in your own. To do this, contact the insurance company personally and provide all the documents about the accident. You will need a certificate of the accident from the traffic police with a description of the damage to the car, an insurance policy and a copy of the violation order. If the accident is your fault, then you will receive compensation for damage under the CASCO policy. If the second participant in the incident is to blame, the payment will be made by the company in which he purchased the OSAGO policy.
Step 2
The insurance expert will appoint the date and time for the examination, the second participant in the incident is notified by telegram. Before inspecting, wash the car so that all damage to the car comes into the field of view of the appraiser.
Step 3
After receiving the results of the assessment, do not wait for payment - contact an independent expert. The insurance company will pay you the amount. The sum of the assessment is often significantly lower than the actual cost of repairing the machine. In the calculation, insurance appraisers include the degree of deterioration of the vehicle, and not the market value of spare parts and repairs. The insurance company is not interested in paying extra funds.
Step 4
Set up a convenient time and place for the examination with an independent expert. Notify the insurance company and the person responsible for the accident by telegram. If at the specified time, except for you and the appraiser, no one showed up for the inspection, wait another half hour, then proceed to the inspection. An independent expert will describe in detail all exterior damage to the vehicle and visible interior damage. After a certain time, you will receive a real estimate of the cost of damage to your car. If in the process of car repairs hidden damages are found, call an independent appraiser, an expert from the insurance company of the second participant and the person responsible for the accident again.
Step 5
Very often, the amounts of the damage assessment of the insurance company and the independent examination differ significantly. You just have to get the insurance company to pay the amount of damage corresponding to the actual cost of repairs. To do this, contact a lawyer. For a fee, he will draw up a statement of claim and will defend your interests in court. Funds spent on the services of a lawyer will be compensated in case of a positive decision.
