An integral replaceable part of accumulators in autonomous water supply stations (CAB) are membranes dividing the accumulator into a water and an air chamber. Since the membranes are exposed to temperature extremes, as well as significant stretching and compression, it is necessary to periodically replace them.

Instructions

Step 1

Disconnect the accumulator from the system by unscrewing the nut and removing the hose. Relieve gas pressure in the air chamber by bleeding air through the nipple. After unscrewing the bolts, dismantle the diaphragm flange located in the area of the connection pipe.

Step 2

Release the diaphragm holder by unscrewing the nut located at the top of the accumulator housing. Pull the membrane out through the hole in the bottom of the housing. Remove traces of dirt and corrosion from the inner surface of the housing, rinse it with water and dry it in order to install a new membrane.

Step 3

Insert the diaphragm holder into the hole at the top of the diaphragm. After screwing the bolt into the holder and inserting the membrane into the body, insert the holder into the hole located in the bottom of the body. Fix the holder with a nut and mount the diaphragm flange on its body. After setting the air pre-pressure, check the accumulator for leaks and reconnect it to the system.

Step 4

Check the diaphragm and its flange for integrity when faced with a situation where the CAB is operating but not supplying water. Membrane adhesion at the rupture site is only a temporary measure that cannot significantly increase its service life. Another reason for the CAB malfunction may be a loose connection between the nozzle flange and the accumulator body. If the station was operated without water, the membrane was most likely pressed against the flange by pressure and became an obstacle to water entering the CAB suction line. In this case, it is necessary to remove and straighten the membrane, and then install it in place, having previously checked for integrity.
