The need to remove the engine arises during major or other complex repairs of the power unit, as well as when replacing the engine. As a rule, the time for overhaul or engine replacement occurs when the mileage is 200-250 thousand km.
It is necessary
- - observation pit or overpass with general or portable lighting;
- - hoisting mechanism (winch, telpher, hoist), designed for a load of at least 300 kg.
Instructions
Step 1
To remove the engine from the car, install it on a flyover or inspection pit. Take care of the lighting of the workplace. When removing the engine, it is imperative to use a hoist, winch or hoist with a lifting capacity of at least 300 kg.
Step 2
Open the hood, unscrew the bolts securing it and remove it. Remove the expansion tank cap, open the radiator cap and the taps on the cylinder block and heater to drain the coolant. To drain the oil from the crankcase, open the drain plugs. After draining the oil, replace the plugs and tighten. Remove the battery.
Step 3
Disconnect the wires from the ignition coils, starter, alternator, gauge sensors, knock and timing sensors. Remove the radiator, water pump and thermostat hoses. Disconnect the ground wire. Remove the bolt securing the left cushion to the engine.
Step 4
Remove the air filter hose, cover and filter element of the air filter itself. Then remove the air filter housing, excluding the nuts and washers of its fastening from getting into the engine. Disconnect all cables, rods, fuel lines and hoses from the carburetor by covering the connections with clean cloths. Disconnect the heater hoses, the vacuum booster hoses and the absolute pressure sensor. Disconnect the fuel fine filter hose. Unscrew the right mount for the engine mount.
Step 5
After removing the hood lock cable, remove the grille trim. Disconnect the expansion tank hoses. Remove the radiator. Hook the engine to the lifting eyes and tension the chains of the load handler.
Step 6
In the vehicle cab, remove the rubber floor seal from the gear lever and from the housing throat cap. Remove the transmission lever. Cover the opening with a clean cloth.
Step 7
Remove the propeller shaft assembly under the vehicle. Plug the hole in the gearbox with a plug. At the transmission, disconnect the speedometer wires and cable. Disconnect the clutch slave cylinder from the clutch housing. Disconnect the exhaust intake pipes from the exhaust manifold and from the transmission. Disconnect the rear engine mount to the transmission, the cross member from the vehicle side members. Remove the cross member itself.
Step 8
Using a lifting device, remove the engine complete with gearbox and clutch.
