Instructions
Step 1
At the preparatory stage of removing the engine, from any model of VAZ cars, first of all, the hood and radiator are dismantled (do not forget to drain the coolant), and the battery is disconnected, which is also removed from its socket.
Step 2
Then it is necessary to disconnect the exhaust pipes from the exhaust manifold, unscrew the nuts securing the engine to the support rubber cushions, disconnect all the electrical wiring connectors connected with the connection of the engine systems to the vehicle's on-board network. Disconnect the throttle rod from the carburetor or injector. Remove the air cleaner and high-voltage wires together with the cover of the breaker-distributor. And also you need to disconnect the fuel line.
Step 3
After finishing work in the engine compartment, in the car, we remove the gearshift lever along with the cover. After that, work is performed from the bottom of the machine: the propeller shaft is disconnected from the gearbox, the clutch slave cylinder is removed, the electrical wiring from the reverse sensor, as well as the speedometer cable are disconnected, the rear support bracket of the power unit is unscrewed, the screw securing the ground cable to the engine is unscrewed and the crankcase protection is dismantled.
Step 4
Now everything is ready to remove the power unit from the car (engine connected to the gearbox). Fix the slings on the cylinder head in the special brackets provided by the manufacturer for removing the engine. And carefully, slowly, start lifting the engine while simultaneously moving it forward in the direction of the vehicle. After the engine is completely removed from the engine compartment, place it in a prepared place.
