Removing an engine is not an easy task. I would like to get by with the least expenditure of time and effort. If you remove it together with the box, then these indicators will be increased. Moreover, the removal of the gearbox in itself is laborious. Therefore, a car enthusiast who is going to remove his engine should be able to do this without removing the gearbox. Let's take a closer look at how to do this.

It is necessary

  • 1) A set of keys;
  • 2) A set of heads;
  • 3) Winch;
  • 4) Inspection pit.

Instructions

Step 1

Disassemble the hood. It is unscrewed with open-end keys. After that, proceed to "freeing" the engine compartment. Drain the antifreeze from the radiator. Disconnect all pipes that go to the radiator, pump, expansion tank. Then remove the radiator.

Step 2

Remove the armored wires and unscrew the breaker-distributor. Next, remove the carburetor or injector, depending on the installed device. Remember that removing the injector is much easier than installing it back. When removed, all systems will fail, and you will have to re-configure. At the very end of the work, remove the starter. It is also possible to remove the alternator to lighten the weight of the engine if removing without a winch.

Step 3

Go down to the viewing hole. In the place where the box is attached to the engine, you will see the bolts. Start unscrewing them. In the inspection pit, you can only turn off the two lower ones. There are also these bolts in the engine compartment. They are symmetrical to the arrangement of the lower ones, but the cap is directed towards the inside of the bonnet space. Thus, you can easily unscrew them.

Step 4

Unscrew the nuts of the bolts that hold the engine to the cushions. After you remove the engine, it is advisable to replace these "pillows". The engine can now be removed. Tie it with a rope or rope. Lower the winch as little as possible towards the engine. Hook the cable onto the winch. Do not allow too much slack in the rope. The engine can now be lifted. Once you start doing this, push the engine out of the box. This can be done by moving the raised engine to the side opposite to the box. As soon as he jumps out of it, you can continue lifting. When you put the engine in place, you will need to get into the gearbox.
