  • - crosshead screwdriver.

Instructions

Step 1

Prepare a Phillips and flathead screwdrivers and disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery. Then remove the cover from the fuse box. To do this, turn the three locks 90 degrees or unscrew the bolts that secure the cover and carefully pull it out. Be careful not to break the tabs that hold the cover. Otherwise, further installation will bring you serious inconvenience.

Step 2

Locate the bolt that secures the mounting block to the dashboard. Use a screwdriver to unscrew it and set it aside so as not to lose it. Carefully remove the unit from the panel by sliding it off the bracket studs or disengaging it from the mounting hooks.

Step 3

Label all pins and associated wires to avoid confusion when reassembling or replacing parts. After completing all the necessary procedures, reinstall the fuse box in the reverse order.

Step 4

On most VAZ cars, additional fuses and relays are installed, which are located at the bottom of the dashboard on the right side. To remove the add-on unit, you will need a Phillips screwdriver and an “8” wrench. Do not forget to disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the storage battery again.

Step 5

Then remove the side floor trim and disconnect the connector with wires from the electronic engine control unit. Using a wrench, unscrew the relay mounting nuts and remove the one you need. A defective fuse can be easily removed using special tweezers.

Step 6

Remember that before replacing a failed fuse or relay, it is imperative to find out the cause of the malfunction and eliminate it. To quickly find the damage, you can use a table that shows which circuits each fuse protects.
