Scooters are becoming more and more relevant, as there is no doubt that the scooter is the most mobile and economical means of transport that can be equally useful both in the city and beyond. Driving this type of transport requires almost no effort, while bringing great pleasure. However, it is worth considering whether the rights to such a vehicle are needed, and no one has canceled the traffic rules either.

Fifty cubic centimeters. Do I need rights

When driving such a vehicle as a scooter, neither the license nor the registration of the scooter with the traffic police are needed, only if the speed that this type of transport can develop does not exceed 60 kilometers per hour, and the engine volume (working) will not exceed 50 cc see. This type of scooter will not belong to a power-driven vehicle and can only be equated to a moped.

If the engine indicators, namely its volume and speed, exceed the above parameters, the vehicle will no longer be considered a moped and, accordingly, the possession of a scooter will have all the ensuing consequences, that is:

- registration with the traffic police;

- obtaining a driving permit;

- technical inspection, which will need to be carried out regularly;

- payment of road tax, etc.

It is precisely on such a scooter that rights will be required without fail, which, by the way, the buyer must be warned about in the salon before making a purchase.

How important are traffic rules and caution when driving a scooter?

A large number of scooter owners believe that if you do not need to issue a permit to drive such a vehicle, then it is not necessary to comply with traffic rules, but you can just drive "neatly". However, this approach cannot be called correct in any way, since any participant in the movement, be it a pedestrian, motorist, cyclist or scooter driver, is obliged to move strictly according to the rules. Otherwise, it can become a hindrance to other road users, which can lead to an emergency on the road. It is precisely because of the possible increase in the number of accidents that today there are a huge number of those people who advocate the mandatory acquisition of rights to drive any vehicle, and a scooter in particular.

This point of view is very clear to those who already have a fairly large driving experience and are familiar with Russian roads firsthand. It is for this reason that getting a license is still half the battle, you need to master the technique of driving and thoroughly study the rules of the road.

In addition, it is important to remember about the safety when driving a scooter. The driver is responsible for his own decisions and behavior on the road. According to the current legislation of the Russian Federation, a person must be at least 16 years old to drive such a vehicle as a scooter, otherwise the driver will be issued a fine, which will not be paid by the driver himself, but by the one who allowed him to drive.
