The greatest effect is obtained by the complex application of several methods of increasing the power of the VAZ2114 at once. Usually, the essence of the intervention performed in the engine consists in 3 points: an increase in the total volume of cylinders, an increase in the absorption capacity of the engine, and an improvement in the purging of cylinders. Each method should be dealt with in more detail.

Increase in volume

At first glance, everything is clear - more volume, more power. To increase it, you will have to change the crankshaft, pistons and connecting rods, bore the cylinder block. The volume will increase due to the increased piston stroke. However, this method has a serious drawback - an increase in friction, which will lead to faster wear of the cylinder-piston group (CPG). To somehow compensate for this drawback, many use lightweight pistons on the VAZ2114 (they simply shorten them by cutting off the skirt). Cylinder block boring will reduce the maintainability of the engine. Also, do not forget that an engine tuned in this way will become less responsive.

Increased absorption capacity

In order for the engine to quickly "absorb" the fuel-air mixture, it is necessary to redo the air damper on the VAZ2114 (increase its diameter). This will significantly reduce the resistance on the way of the mixture to the cylinders. The second part of the work to increase the absorption capacity of the engine is to increase the diameter of the cylinder head valves and the corresponding channels. Alternatively, you can install a multi-throttle intake manifold (one for each cylinder).

Scavenging

Here, the already tested technology in the form of turbocharging is most often used. Today, manufacturers offer many ready-made, assembled kits, which are not difficult to install - the engine efficiency will increase significantly. However, it is worth remembering that the device is not cheap, and it also requires maintenance during operation: you will have to change the oil, take into account other features; for example, you cannot suddenly and immediately turn off the engine. Another disadvantage is that the turbo starts working after a set of 2, 5-3 thousand rpm, so that when driving in the city, it is almost useless.

Another option for purging the cylinders is to install a compressor. This is a much more efficient method - the compressor starts working from the lowest speed. The main disadvantage is the complexity of the installation - you can't do without a good locksmith. Compressors are unpretentious in maintenance, but have lower efficiency compared to turbocharging. In addition, after improving the purging of the cylinders, a straight-through muffler can be installed, which will facilitate the rapid removal of exhaust gases.
