Among the popular methods that can stop the flow of coolant, such a method as adding silicone sealant to the antifreeze is widely used, which is poured into the expansion tank when the engine is not running. Then the motor starts up and is allowed to run for 15 minutes. During the specified period of time, the flow will inevitably stop.

But sometimes circumstances develop in such a way that a bottle of sealant may not be at hand at the right time. In this case, you can restore the tightness of the radiator by using ordinary soap, which must be added in the form of shavings to the expansion tank. Approximately 50-100 grams of soap is cut with a knife and then the soap shavings are added to the cooling system. Despite the unusualness of this method of eliminating a radiator leak, it is quite effective, and allows you to overcome more than one thousand kilometers on a car with a similar malfunction.
