If only cold air is supplied from the car's stove, or only hot air is blowing, then the heater needs repair. The causes of breakdowns can be temperature sensors, a heater controller, a damper or its drive, a motor reducer.
Instructions
Step 1
Check the functionality of the temperature sensor. It is located on the ceiling near the lighting shade. When switching the temperature control lever from one extreme position to another, the heater damper should be adjusted and the air temperature should change. If the flow temperature changes only in the extreme positions of the lever, then the temperature sensor is broken and needs to be replaced.
Step 2
Check the damper. To do this, remove the deflectors correctly (according to the instructions). The damper should be vertical in hot air and horizontal in cold air. Move the shutter by hand. If it is loose, then it is broken. The plastic shutter can be glued or replaced with an aluminum one. It is more convenient to work with the damper from the side of the engine compartment.
Step 3
In order to remove and check the heater controller (ACS0 unit), remove the fault indication unit and the clock, then bend the antennae of the unit fastening. Be careful with wires and plugs. With the ignition on, measure the voltage at the output from the controller. Turn the temperature knob at the same time. If the voltage does not change, replace the controller.
Step 4
Remove the wipers, the windshield trim and the engine compartment bulkhead insulation. Remove the washer hose. In this case, put all the fasteners in separate packages and sign. This is necessary to get to the geared motor. Regardless of the version of the gearmotor installed, when the temperature adjustment lever is turned, the square of the damper (lever) of the gearmotor should move, and the gearbox itself should hum. If this is not the case, then there is a jamming of the gearbox or damper. Take out the geared motor. In this case, the damper should stand horizontally and only let cold air through. If the damper is stuck, find and fix the problem. And to put the gearbox in place, switch the temperature until the stem comes to the desired position. A faulty gearmotor can be reanimated by disassembling, cleaning and lubricating.
