The driver's license is valid for 10 years from the date of issue. If you do not exchange it in time, it will be considered expired and invalid. And if you drive a car, despite the fact that your license is no longer "working", you risk getting a lot of problems when communicating with traffic police inspectors.
It is necessary
- - Passport;
- - driver's examination card;
- - medical certificate;
- - receipt of payment of state duty;
- - old driver's license.
Instructions
Step 1
In order to change the rights to new ones, you need to come to any district department of the MREO traffic police in your city. There you will need to write a corresponding statement. The form will be issued by inspectors. Take your driver's test card, passport, medical certificate, old driver's license with you. Add to this package of documents a receipt for payment of state duty. Its size is about 800 rubles.
Step 2
You can take a receipt for payment of the state duty at the traffic police department. You will need it to pay the required amount through payment terminals or through the Internet banking system. Or you can pay the fee at the savings bank without specifying the details. As a rule, all the necessary numbers in the bank are displayed automatically.
Step 3
A photo is not required today, since a license of a new sample is issued and photographed on them directly in the traffic police department. Moreover, you do not need to pay for these cards. Their cost is included in the state duty.
Step 4
Your driver's license will be exchanged for you on the day of contact, only you will need some time - about 30 minutes - 1 hour - to wait. Submit the entire package of documents to a special window. Then you will be called to obtain new rights.
Step 5
Although fines for late license are not taken, it is also not worth driving with such a license. Indeed, according to article 12.7, part 1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, it is equated to driving a vehicle by a driver who does not have the right to drive a car. And in this case, you risk paying a fine of 2,500 rubles for an expired certificate.
