Gather all the required paperwork. You will need a medical certificate, an expired driver's license, photographs for a new license and a passport. Call the traffic police department and find out on what days and what hours are the reception of drivers who need to replace their driver's license. Also check how the reception is going, whether you need to make an appointment in advance or take special coupons. Otherwise, you risk spending a lot of time and nerves, standing in vain in endless queues. Also, just in case, find out what you need to bring: you may, for example, need a photocopy of a document, and you will have to look for a place where you can do it, and then wait your turn again.
Step 3
When you finally get to the appointment, show the traffic police officer all the necessary documents and photocopies. Wait until you are given a new certificate, and do not leave until you have checked all the data indicated on it. Traffic police officers are people too, and they can accidentally make a mistake, because of which you may later get into trouble. If the error is detected immediately after the issuance of a new driver's license, it will take only a few minutes to fix it. But if you find her, having already left the traffic police department, then you will have to stand in lines again and waste time.
