The most effective and quickest way to defrost locks in a car is to use special tools that are produced in compact cylinders that fit comfortably in a pocket, in a "purse" or in a woman's purse. If you did not have a lock defroster with you, heat the key until it gets hot with a lighter flame and quickly insert it into the lock: the heated tip of the key will melt the ice in the larva, and the car can be opened. If it doesn't help, use the hot cigarette lighter of a nearby car, attach it to the lock cylinder, wait a couple of minutes for the lock to warm up, and try to open it.

If operations with heating with improvised means did not help defrost the locks in the car, then chemical agents will come to the rescue: antifreeze, antifreeze or alcohol. If there is no alcohol, you can use vodka, but in any case you need a syringe with a needle. Draw a couple of milliliters of liquid into the syringe. If it is antifreeze or antifreeze from the trunk of a nearby car, warm the syringe with the collected coolant with the warmth of your palm. Inject the heated liquid into the lock cylinder and start opening the car. Alcohol-containing liquids not only rinse the lock from ice, but also react with it with the release of temperature, which is an additional factor that allows you to quickly open the lock.

To prevent the situation with the locks from repeating the next morning, blow through the locks at the nearest car wash or by yourself with a household hairdryer. After that, treat it with a car locks care product with a special defrosting additive: it will not only protect the lock from freezing, but also have a positive effect on its further work, as it contains lubricants.
