Sometimes, by mistake, diesel fuel instead of gasoline gets into the car's gas tank, or vice versa. Or a low-quality oil product enters the fuel system, and the car stalls on the road. In all these situations, it is necessary to empty the tank as soon as possible. It is also necessary if there is a need to share fuel with another car enthusiast. The old method of sucking gasoline may not work due to a thin and winding filling line, as well as due to the installation of a valve in the tank of foreign cars.
Instructions
Step 1
Stop and engage the handbrake. Place the transmission in neutral. Unscrew the filler neck, which must be closed after draining.
Step 2
Open the hood and locate the petrol pipes that fit directly to the bottom of the engine. When you have found them, then select the one in which the fuel goes to the ramp. It is easy to identify: it is the toughest because of the pressure inside.
Step 3
Carefully remove the clamp and disconnect the hose. Get into the car and turn the ignition key, when the engine starts, fuel will pour out of the tube. Do not be alarmed, after a few seconds the flow will stop.
Step 4
Locate the relay and fuse box, which is usually located under the hood. Identify the click relay that is responsible for switching the fuel pump. After finding the relay, remove it. Remember to reinstall it after you drain the fuel.
Step 5
Jumper two contacts in the place where the relay stood. This can be done with any metal object, such as a paper clip. That's it, now the pump will work without stopping. Place containers under the hose into which you will drain the fuel.
Step 6
Turn on the ignition and watch the level of the remaining diesel fuel, because good pumps pump very quickly. When the fuel starts to bubble, turn off the ignition, otherwise you may break the pump. Reinstall relay, hose and clamp. Tighten the gas tank cap and fill up with quality fuel.
