Car wheels require regular inspection as well as periodic repairs. The most common problem for car owners is a flat tire. But it's not that hard to fix.
Instructions
Step 1
You will need to purchase a foot pump. It is desirable that a pressure gauge be built into it. Then, in any situation, it will be easy to pump up the wheels to the desired level. You can also buy a conventional electric pump. It is connected to the cigarette lighter in the car. However, its package must also include a device that determines and displays the pressure in the wheels on the display.
Step 2
There is a cap on the tire valve. It needs to be removed. A hose must run from the compressor or pump. Put it in place of the cap. But do not rush to immediately start pumping. First of all, you need to look at the numbers that the pressure gauge shows. Pumping is needed only if the pressure is below normal. Experts attribute a pressure of 2-2, 2 atmospheres to normal values.
Step 3
It is necessary to ensure that the bar is not exceeded. Otherwise, you run the risk of making the wheels too hard. And this, in turn, reduces the vehicle's handling and passenger comfort. Sometimes, because of this, even the tires themselves can become unusable. If there is too much pressure, you can simply remove the hose - the excess air will come out on its own.
Step 4
After you have inflated the wheel, you need to check if there is a puncture in the tire. To do this, you need to jack your vehicle up. Inspect the wheel. If you find a stuck nail or any other foreign sharp object in the tread patterns, then simple pumping will not help here. This will require a real repair. If you have a spare tire with you, then you are very lucky. You just need to jack up the car and replace the wheel.
Step 5
If you don't have a spare wheel, then you need to try to get to the nearest tire shop. To do this, you first need to inflate the wheel. Do not pull the object out of the wheel. Drive at low speed.
