Recently, amendments to the traffic rules of the Russian Federation came into force in the order of registration of an accident. The new rules took effect on July 1, 2015. However, many drivers still do not know the basic rules for self-registration of an accident and make serious mistakes.
1. In the event of a serious accident with material damage and in case of disagreement between the parties, the participants in the accident do not contact the traffic police or do not follow the instructions of the traffic police inspector.
Very often, the culprit of an accident and the injured party, in a collision with each other, do not contact the traffic police, do not draw up an accident scheme and do not take photos or videos. If there is a suspicion that the second participant in the accident is intoxicated or does not have the appropriate documents to drive a vehicle, then in this case it is necessary to call the traffic police on duty and report the incident. In any controversial situations and serious accidents, you should also contact the traffic police.
2. Poor quality photo or video recording.
If there is no disagreement between the parties and all the documents are available for both drivers, and the traffic police officer gives permission for an independent registration of an accident, then in this case it is very important to make a high-quality photo and video. The photo should show that this is your car, all damage is visible, as well as binding to the terrain, for example, a stop or a corner of a house where an accident occurred.
3. Poor road accident scheme.
In addition to photo and video filming, you need to correctly and competently draw up an accident scheme. On the diagram, try to locate all the surrounding infrastructure and the location of cars as accurately as possible. Each participant in the accident must sign their agreement with the scheme.
