To obtain a driver's license, you must complete and successfully pass one of the exercises on the site, which is called the overpass. Entering the overpass on a manual transmission is not the easiest thing for a novice driver. But there are quite a few detailed instructions with which you can learn how to do this. In addition to the manual gearbox, there is the so-called automatic gearbox. This modern version is preferable, much more convenient to use and easier for a beginner to master. However, there is practically no information on how the flyover exercise is performed on the machine. Despite the fact that this is much easier to do than on a mechanic, it is useful for a beginner to familiarize himself with the technique of driving onto an overpass.
Instructions
Step 1
Steer the vehicle into an overpass in Drive mode. Approach an incline without using the accelerator pedal. Continue driving until the incline by releasing the brake pedal.
Step 2
A meter and a half before the start of the ascent, smoothly transfer your foot from the brake pedal to the gas pedal and begin to smoothly gain engine speed. There is no need to re-gas, however, if the speed is insufficient, the machine may not cope with the slope. Therefore, you need to focus on 1100-1300 rpm. These revolutions must be kept up to about 2/3 of the elevation of the overpass.
Step 3
Pay close attention to the dynamics of the rise and, if at any moment you feel a rollback point or a state close to it, gradually add gas.
Step 4
When the car has covered most of the way (about 2/3 of the way or a little more), smoothly release the gas pedal so that the car stops at the stop line. At the last moment, help the car to stop completely with the brake.
Step 5
Apply the brake. Be very careful, since the car now has no inertia, and rolling back more than 30 cm is not allowed.
Step 6
Place the box in neutral.
Step 7
Pull out the handbrake as far as it will go. All this time, you must firmly hold the brake pedal. After you have raised the handbrake, do not remove your hand from it and release the brake pedal very slowly. If you suddenly feel that the car has begun to rollback (even if it is only a few mm), immediately press the brake pedal again and tighten the handbrake. Achieve a stable state without rolling back.
Step 8
Release the brake pedal and demonstrate that the machine is firmly on the handbrake.
Step 9
Now place your foot on the gas pedal again. Dial 1600-2000 rpm and be ready to gradually increase them if necessary.
Step 10
Slowly and most importantly - completely, release the handbrake. The vehicle should move uphill without rolling back. If you have the slightest suspicion that the car will roll back, increase the engine speed in the desired range.
Step 11
Having driven onto the overpass, release the gas pedal, place your foot on the brake pedal and brake smoothly. It is necessary to stop behind the overpass in such a way that the bumper does not run over the stop line, but also moves over the mark. It's not that hard on an automatic transmission.
Step 12
Complete the exercise in the correct way. Move the box to the neutral position and put it on the handbrake.
