Since November 2013, after the entry into force of amendments to the law on road safety, handing over the license after self-training is prohibited. Now it is possible to become the happy owner of the rights of the required category only after studying at a driving school and passing exams at the traffic police.
You can become a student of a driving school before the age of 18, but admission to passing exams at the traffic police will still be received no earlier than the age of majority.
What you need to know about a driving school
When submitting documents to a driving school, you will need a passport or other identity document and 4 photographs. It is possible to pass a medical examination in advance, but some driving schools provide such a service on the spot. The cost of training starts from 30 thousand rubles. The standard term of study is 2.5 months.
If the term of study is less than 2 months, it will be useful to make sure that the driving school has a license and study the reviews of former students.
At the meeting, a group of novice drivers is introduced to the program that they have to master during their studies. The days of theoretical classes are being specified, as well as the schedule of classes in urban conditions and on the site.
Theoretical lessons
Theory in a driving school is taught as standard twice a week in the evenings. The theory lesson lasts 1, 5-2 hours. There are groups that train exclusively on weekends. Whether there is such a form of training and how much it costs, it is advisable to find out separately at the chosen driving school.
In theoretical lessons, the group, together with the teacher, examines the "Rules of the road", solves problems and analyzes possible traffic situations. Closer to the middle of training, novice drivers are expected to test their knowledge. The degree of preparedness of each driver is determined most often by test tasks. The teacher is given 10-20 tasks, the solution of which is given a certain time. After that, all mistakes are dealt with together with the students.
Do not leave the independent study of theory for later. If you consistently disassemble the rules in the classroom, in the head the knowledge is gradually laid out on the shelves.
City driving
In the old fashioned way, some driving schools in the city begin to release students only when the basic skills have been worked out on the site. But more and more often the “city-playground” sequence is practiced. Pupils are released into the city at the very first lesson. During the training, the skills of starting movement, acceleration, stopping and simple turns are practiced. A little later, after the first fear of driving has passed, turns, lane changes and maneuvering in the stream are added. Thus, by the time the training begins on the site, the students come already as prepared as possible. A minimum of 48 hours should be allocated for city driving. Plus, training on a simulator in a driving school classroom is mandatory, as well as homework assignments given by instructors in the classroom.
Playground
Classes in a confined space (on the site) should be allocated at least 12 hours. During this time, the future driver will have to learn how to correctly perform the "Overpass", "Snake", "Parallel parking" and "Parking in a box (garage)". There is nothing difficult in the exercises. A professional instructor first explains the exercise in words, shows how it is performed in real conditions, and then sketches it.
Internal exam at a driving school
An internal exam in a driving school includes checking theoretical knowledge, performing exercises on the site, as well as passing driving in city mode. For theory, each student receives a sheet with 30 assignments. By the time of the internal exam, all problems are solved in about 2-3 minutes. After checking the knowledge of traffic rules, the group goes to the site. The "Snake" and "Overpass" are always mandatory. The third exercise is to choose a driving school director (one of the parking options). Those who passed without error both the theory and the site are allowed to pass driving in the city.
In the same way as in the traffic police, the internal exam in the city takes at least 20 minutes. During this time, according to the task of the examiner, the student will have to show everything that he was taught at the driving school: maneuvering in the stream, rearrangements, turns, the ability to use vehicle controls, knowledge of traffic rules. The maximum number of penalty points with which you can get admission to the exam in the traffic police is 4, 5 penalty points are deprived of this opportunity. Most often, driving schools have a rule of one retake of an internal exam. Therefore, students have a second chance to try their hand.
Exam in the traffic police
Passing the exam in the traffic police completely copies the passing of the internal exam in a driving school. The only difference is that the traffic police inspector will sit next to him. A certain number of people are sent to the computer class for theory. After passing the first group, the second is launched. After the theory, the lucky ones are allowed to pass the exercises on the site. Similarly to the internal exam at the traffic police site, there will be two compulsory exercises and one for the choice of the inspector taking the exam. After the site, the group is allowed to pass the city driving. A little luck, the absence of nervous tension is enough, and after 20 minutes while driving, you can become the owner of a driver's license.
