In addition, keep in mind that the weight of the semi-trailer can be very significant in relation to the weight of the tractor, especially if it is loaded. Therefore, be careful, try to move very smoothly and leave the necessary margin for braking.

In the case of an incomplete load of the container, place the load as close as possible to the saddle, which will give it additional stability, and also facilitate the task of the unit when starting to move. Thanks to this, you can significantly save fuel consumption, which is especially important in urban traffic.

When driving through the city in a truck, you will encounter another serious obstacle - the corners, which are usually very narrow. For this reason, companies that are engaged in freight transport establish certain routes along which it is possible to move with semi-trailers and trailers without frequent stops.
Step 6
Right turns on large trucks should generally be done as follows: When approaching, steer the truck slightly closer to the center of the road. This will create a certain radius so that the cut corner will not be under the wheels and your truck will not run over the curb. When exiting a bend, turn up the fuel supply a little. This way, you can overcome the radial resistance on the body and safely pull the truck out without unnecessary shifts and drifts.

When talking about driving trucks, we can mention road trains, which are a truck plus one or more trailers. Such options are usually used very rarely, and the handling of them has its own specifics. However, when you master the confident control of a tractor with a semitrailer, then you will already have the minimum basic skills in driving a road train.
