The technical state of disengaging or engaging the clutch of the car and its drive affects the process of gear shifting, the uniformity of movement of the machine, as well as the economy of fuel consumption.
It is necessary
- - car
- - clutch pedal
- - Transmission
Instructions
Step 1
If you have a new car, pay special attention to the operation of the clutch and gearbox. After the first 2000 km, check and, if necessary, adjust the clutch actuator.
Step 2
With the engine running, listen for noise changes when you press the clutch pedal. Only in this position can you determine? how well the clutch disengages. If there are problems in the shut-off bearing, you will definitely hear unusual sounds. Check the clutch release bearing by ear every 15 thousand kilometers of the vehicle.
Step 3
Understand how the clutch works. This is especially necessary for inexperienced drivers so that this structure in the car does not seem incredibly complicated. The clutch is designed to connect and disconnect the engine and gearbox without sudden loads.
Step 4
When the clutch pedal is released, it is always engaged. In this case, the springs press against the pressure plate. This drive disc is pressed against the clutch disc, which in turn is pressed against the flywheel. Both discs and flywheel rotate as a unit and transmit torque from the engine to the wheels through other transmission parts.
Step 5
To disengage the clutch as much as possible, depress the clutch pedal. Its full stroke is approximately 140 mm. The process of pressing the pedal has several stages. The first 25-35 mm is pedal free travel when properly adjusted.
Step 6
Further, through the drive parts, the clutch pedal acts on the clutch of the release bearing and the return spring of the clutch release mechanism. They, in turn, take the driving disc away from the driven disc by 1, 4-1, 7 mm. The clutch disc is released and stops transmitting torque from the engine to the transmission drive shaft. The clutch is disengaged. In this bumpless mode, change gears or brake.
Step 7
Release the clutch pedal smoothly. The return springs will return the pedal to its original position. The clutch engages and the pressure plate gradually pushes the clutch disc against the flywheel.
Step 8
If the clutch is faulty, carefully so as not to damage the parts, remove the gearbox assembly with the clutch housing, the clutch cover with the pressure plate assembly and the clutch driven plate from the machine. Disassemble and fix the problem. Or contact a specialist.
