Bulbs in car headlights, as in a regular chandelier, tend to burn out over time. And you need to change it. And for this, the headlight must be removed. The same procedure occurs when repairing a car light. However, not all motorists know how to properly remove a headlight and change it to another.
Instructions
Step 1
First, find a suitable replacement headlamp. You can purchase it at specialized technical centers, for example, those located at an authorized dealer. You can try to choose a headlight on specialized car wrecks. The main thing is that it fits exactly your car.
Step 2
Proceed to direct replacement. First, remove the radiator grill - this is necessary to open access to the headlight and provide yourself with the most open repair space.
Step 3
Unscrew the bolts that secure the headlamp on both sides. If they defy your efforts, soak them with a special anti-corrosion agent. Wait a bit and get to work again.
Step 4
Take any item that can act as a lever. For example, a plastic or plastic spatula. Wrap it in a cloth. This should be done in order not to scratch the paint on the body when removing the headlight. Carefully insert the spatula into the gap between the headlight and the body of the car and slowly move it away from the edge. It remains only to get it.
Step 5
Remove the headlamp from the bracket on which it is mounted, unhook the wires of the bulbs from the terminals and set them aside.
Step 6
Now take a new headlight and proceed in reverse order. First, connect the lamp wires, then place the headlight on the bracket and secure. Reinsert the headlight. Tighten the bolts. And check how smoothly you performed the whole operation.
Step 7
Some motorists treat the edges of the headlight with a special mastic for additional insulation. Check if the lamp wires are connected properly. If everything is in order, then the headlight was replaced correctly.
