Every motorist must constantly monitor the state of the headlights on his car, since they are the ones that ensure safe driving in the dark. If the headlamp is cracked or stopped working, then it must be replaced. You can do this procedure yourself, as it is very simple.
It is necessary
- - screwdrivers;
- - cotton gloves;
- - new block headlight;
- - clean rags.
Instructions
Step 1
Visit the official store that supplies certified parts for Chevrolet vehicles. Ask your dealer to show you the headlamp for the Chevrolet Aveo. Examine the documentation for the spare part, make sure that the purchased part is original. Purchase spare parts only in trusted stores.
Step 2
Wash the vehicle immediately before replacing the headlight. Drive him into the garage. Open the hood and remove the negative terminal from the battery. This will de-energize the on-board power system and avoid short circuits. Read your Chevrolet Aveo owner's manual. In it you can find illustrated instructions for replacing the headlight.
Step 3
Find the three bolts that secure the headlamp unit. Two of them are located at the top, and the third is on the side, which is closer to the radiator grill. Gently grasp the headlamp housing, pull slightly towards you and remove it from the socket. Be sure to wear cotton gloves to avoid damaging or getting your hands dirty.
Step 4
Find the wires from the back to the headlight. Disconnect the low beam and high beam connector. This last is usually white. Grasp the case when removing. Never pull on the wires. This can lead to a break in the insulation of the wires. Then disconnect the pads of the electric corrector and the side light. The headlamp can now be completely removed. If the headlamp glass has been broken, then inspect the engine compartment. There should be no debris from the headlight glass anywhere. The freed nest should be thoroughly wiped and cleaned of accumulated dirt.
Step 5
Install the new headlamp in reverse order. Compare the appearance of both headlights. They should not differ in color or texture. Place the negative terminal over the battery and turn on the headlights. Check if the old and new lamps are shining the same.
