Burnt out headlights of a car give their owners a lot of discomfort. At the service center, replacing the lamp will take about 20 minutes, but it is not always possible to reach it. In this case, change the headlight bulb on the Chevrolet Lacetti yourself.
It is necessary
- - new light bulb
- - socket wrench
- - car manual
Instructions
Step 1
Remove the headlight to start replacing the lamp. Carrying out this operation as mandatory is indicated in the instruction manual. Without dismantling the headlight, it will be almost impossible to complete the procedure (in case of replacing the low beam lamp or side lights).
Step 2
Open the hood of the car. Take a socket wrench and use it to unscrew the nut located in the area of the engine compartment between the headlight and the radiator. Move the wires to get to it. Remove the bolts. You will see them immediately: they are located on the upper half of the radiator frame.
Step 3
After completing the preparatory work, do not try to remove the headlight immediately. First, lift it up a little and pull it towards the wing. Remove the stud from the radiator, which was held in place by the unscrewed nut.
Step 4
Pull the headlight out of the socket a little. You will see two wire harnesses that need to be disconnected. The harness located at the bottom, approximately in the middle of the headlight, is the main one. Press down on the latch at the top to remove it.
Step 5
Remove the second wiring harness - rotary - together with the lamp. To do this, turn the gray chuck 45 degrees counterclockwise. You can remove the headlight.
Step 6
To replace the bulb, remove the cover from the low beam and side lights section (it is on the right when you hold the headlamp with the wrong side facing you). Remove the broken hardware. If you are replacing a side light bulb, be careful: it is fixed in the headlight housing together with a socket without a base. Install the low beam lamp with the antennae up. This provision is the only correct one. If installed differently, it will blind oncoming drivers.
