The stove brings warmth to the interior in winter. The basis of any car heater is a radiator. But it would not have been able to heat the entire interior without an electric fan. It is the fan that creates the air flow that rushes through the air ducts to the passengers.
An electric fan in the heater is necessary to create a flow of air, which, passing through the radiator honeycomb, heats up and spreads through the air ducts. The air vents are directed to the windshield, to the side windows, to the passengers and, in some cars, to the feet of the rear passengers. Some of the first domestically produced cars in which hot air was supplied to the feet of passengers were the VAZs of the eighth and ninth models, as well as the Moskvich 2141.
Removing the fan on the classic
To work, you need a minimum set of tools - a Phillips and flat screwdrivers, as well as a key for 14. The stove in the classic is located behind the tape recorder panel. It is necessary to remove the panel with the cigarette lighter by prying it with a screwdriver alternately on both sides. Disconnect the negative terminal from the battery in advance. Only after disconnecting the battery, carry out work.
Now you can remove the storage shelf under the glove compartment. And the time has come to unscrew the screws from the "beard". Having unscrewed them, you need to remove the middle part of the panel, before your eyes there will be an air duct installed on the fan. Disconnect this air duct and you will see a fan in front of you attached to the heatsink.
After removing the fan, it is attached to the radiator with four spring holders, which are removed with a screwdriver, just pry them off. Further work is reduced to disconnecting the wires from the fan, to the resistor and to the body. The negative wire is attached to the body with a nut, a 14 key is needed precisely to unscrew it. Installation of a new fan is carried out upside-down.
Removing the stove fan on a VAZ 2108-21099
It is even easier to change the stove fan on eights and nines, since a different heater design is used in these models. The fan on the eighth Lada family is located in the engine compartment. The negative wire of the fan is connected to the body under the dashboard. There is also a plug connector on the positive lead.
First of all, disconnect the battery, unscrew the nut securing the fan ground wire, disconnect the plug connection. Now you need to move outside to remove the plastic air intakes installed under the windshield. the motor cover is attached to the body with four self-tapping screws that need to be unscrewed.
The fan itself is mounted on rubber cushions and is fastened with two bolts. By unscrewing them completely, you can remove the electric fan. First, you need to slightly lift it and pull it towards you, then, rotating it around its axis, gradually remove it from the installation place. The stove fan must be installed in the reverse order.
