A stove in a car is one of the most indispensable parts, especially in the cold season. Therefore, if it fails, it is necessary to take measures to replace the heater.
Necessary
- - tank for coolant;
- - screwdriver.
Instructions
Step 1
Before carrying out work, be sure to drain the coolant into a previously prepared container through the hole in the fluid reservoir. Also disconnect the instrument panel. To do this, disconnect all electrical connectors and buttons from the dashboard. Then, using a screwdriver, slightly loosen the screws that tighten the clamps of the two hoses. These hoses extend from the heater faucet connections and pass under the dashboard inside the vehicle interior.
Step 2
Loosen the clamps in the same way and remove the hoses from the heater tap connections, which are located in the engine compartment. Unscrew the two nuts for securing the valve. After that, disconnect it from the shield and pull out the rod holder. Remove the protective boot located on the gear lever to allow easy access to the floor tunnel liner.
Step 3
After that, unscrew the screws that secure the cover and remove it by pulling back. Disconnect the internal ventilation duct from the stove body. Find the wires that are connected to the heater motor and disconnect them. Also disconnect the wires from the resistor, which is required to select the fan operating mode. It has two spirals with different resistances that turn on and off when you turn the control knob.
Step 4
Unscrew the nuts on the right side of the stove. Repeat the same operation with the left side. Then remove the heater together with the control panel. Be sure to find the cause of the stove malfunction, because it is easier to replace one element than the entire structure. After the subsequent final assembly and installation of all the parts in their places, check how the stove works under various modes that you yourself will set it to.
