Mercedes-Benz is a well-known automotive brand that produces high-end cars. It was founded back in 1926. The emblem of this German brand is known to many. It is a three-pointed star.
The Mercedes star is considered one of the most popular and at the same time mysterious logos used in the automotive industry. Of course, it is not in vain that this sign is referred to the oldest emblems, and even the Mercedes-Benz company rightfully today occupies one of the first and leading positions among world car brands. It is worth noting that this star has several interpretations, among which there are mystical and unlikely ones.
The star of the Mercedes-Benz concern is rightfully recognized as the most successful symbol of the company in the 20th century.
The first version of the designation of the three-pointed star
The origin and appearance of the emblem dates back to the distant 1880. Then the famous German inventor Gottlieb Daimler, at that time engaged in entrepreneurship, painted a star sign on the wall of the house. But at that time no one used it yet. The mark only 29 years later attracted the attention of Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft - a well-known company that applied it, becoming to produce equipment under this logo.
Since the company was engaged not only in the production of cars, but also created engines for aircraft and ships, this three-beam emblem meant the use of engines at sea, in the sky and on earth, symbolizing the strength and unity of the three. In addition, it is necessary to clarify that then the version of the star with four rays was officially adopted, but then only three were used.
Karl Benz, after registering his trademark in the form of a steering wheel, replaced it with a laurel wreath. And later, when two well-known concerns at that time (Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft and Benz) merged, the star was simply inscribed in this circle. So in 1937, this emblem became the official sign of Mercedes-Benz.
That is why many associate this emblem with three people who went down in history as the creators of Mercedes-Benz: the head of Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft Emil Jellinek, his daughter Mercedes and designer Wilhelm Maybach. The latter is considered the "king of designers", and Emil was an ardent supporter of sports cars and worked a lot himself, taking part in the creation of the most advanced cars, while the name of his daughter went down in history forever as the name of a German car.
The story of Mercedes Benz is tragic - she died as a child. However, the father carried the memory of his daughter throughout his life, immortalizing her name in one of the most status cars.
The second version of the origin of the three-pointed star
There is another less realistic story of the star designation on Mercedes-Benz. So, in a circle there is a figure of a woman, the prototype of which was used in ancient times (a female figure located at the stern of ships). So, Mercedes also denotes a floating car, driven by the power of the engine and controlled by the will of the owner.
