In the work of a manufacturing enterprise, it is often necessary to transport dangerous goods, for example, gases, poisons, explosives, etc. Such a load can be dangerous to both people and the environment.
Instructions
Step 1
For the transportation of dangerous goods, conditions for reliable transportation must be created. The personnel working with this cargo (transportation, loading, unloading) are also subject to high demands.
Step 2
Depending on the degree of impact on the environment and on humans, such a cargo is assigned a hazard class. There are nine hazard classes in total, the lower the class number, the more dangerous the cargo:
Class 1 - explosives and materials;
Class 2 - gases under pressure;
Class 3 - flammable liquid substances;
Class 4 - flammable solids;
Class 5 - materials and substances containing various oxidants;
Class 6 - substances with a high degree of toxic and bacteriological hazard to the environment and to human health;
Class 7 - substances with a high degree of radiation;
Class 8 - materials that are chemically active substances and reagents;
Class 9 - materials with low hazard and degree of impact on the environment;
The appropriate vehicle is selected depending on the hazard class.
Step 3
If the company does not have the ability to transport dangerous goods, then the best solution would be to contact the appropriate transport companies specializing in this type of transportation. In any case, when transporting dangerous goods, the following conditions must be met:
• Depending on the hazard class, certain precautions must be taken, for example, shaking or impacts are unacceptable for many substances.
• the vehicle carrying the cargo must be accompanied by all the necessary documents.
• containers in which dangerous goods are transported must not have any defects, leaks, etc.
• Personnel handling dangerous goods must be appropriately equipped.
