Pay attention to those elements of the supports that will come into contact with the paintwork surface of the car body during installation and operation. They should be fitted with vinyl or rubber inserts.

When purchasing transverse arcs, decide on the estimated weight of the luggage. If you intend to carry a light load, up to 20 kg, take cross members made of light aluminum alloy. They are beautiful and, due to their oval cross-section, do not cause strong aerodynamic noise. But remember that the aluminum profile can deform under heavy load. To transport cargo with a maximum weight for your car (usually 40-50 kg), give preference to galvanized steel luggage rails.

When choosing a container for luggage, take into account the nature of the cargo. A universal solution would be to install a streamlined plastic box or a large aluminum "basket" on the crossbeams. The first option is preferable, since things in it remain protected from bad weather and theft. The box is locked with a key, and the most advanced models are equipped with combination locks.
