Fog lights are those that have yellow, white, red, blue or green glass; they give a horizontal flat beam that spreads on the road. Fog lights are used in severe weather conditions, when visibility on the road is reduced by 3 - 4 times: snow, fog, smog, etc., the use of conventional headlights in such conditions becomes useless. The main criterion for choosing fog lights is their technical characteristics.
Instructions
Step 1
The color of the glass is of the greatest importance. Bright yellow and milky white are preferred - these are the colors of the blue part of the spectrum. Unlike green, blue and red, the colors of the blue spectrum are much better diffused in water droplets.
Step 2
Pay attention to the markings on the headlight. Fog lights that have been suitably tested and certified are specially marked on the glass with a two-digit country code and the letter “B”. The presence of the letter "B" indicates that the headlights are indeed fog lamps. The power of the lamp should not exceed 50-60 W, while the cap must be marked with H-1 or H-3.
Step 3
When installing fog lights, it must be remembered that the cut-off line cannot be, above or below the driver's eye level, therefore they need to be installed under the line of ordinary headlights; it is inappropriate to place such headlights on the roof of the car.
