Road visibility while driving is one of the most important conditions for the safety of the driver and pedestrians. Therefore, the lighting of the roadway must be taken seriously. It is especially important to set up good lighting in poor visibility conditions. Fog lights are designed to help you drive in poor visibility conditions. How do you set the fog lights correctly and ensure maximum visibility in difficult conditions?
It is necessary
- - car,
- - screwdriver,
- - screen specially marked for adjustment.
Instructions
Step 1
Before starting the adjustment, equip the car with an additional mass of 70 kg (put your wife and child or a friend in the cabin, put water cylinders, perhaps you will come up with something else). Fill the tank full. Your vehicle should be positioned on a level, horizontal surface 10 meters from the screen. But at autoforums, experienced people assure that even 5 meters is quite a sufficient distance.
Step 2
Lay out the screen in a certain way. The screen, by the way, can be a wall or a high fence. It is necessary to draw lines that will mark important points at the intersection or with their edges. The height of the bottom line should correspond to the distance from the ground to the fog lamps. It is also necessary to mark the distances from the center of the car, when looking at it from the front to the centers of the fog lights. The top line is twice the distance from the floor to the centers of the fog lights. As a result, you have a lined screen canvas, where there are 2 points of the center of the headlights and the lines of limiting the upper and lower boundaries of the light.
Step 3
Now go directly to the headlight adjustment. Position the vehicle 10m away from the screen. Using a screwdriver and an adjusting screw on each fog lamp, you need to focus the headlamp beam at the intersection of the center of the headlights on the screen.
