Car upgrades are troublesome. But the work is burning in the skillful hands of a real motorist, who decided to independently install xenon on his Ford Focus.
Necessary
- - one flat large screwdriver;
- - small hacksaw / small jigsaw;
- - xenon lamps;
- - nippers;
- - self-tapping screws up to 1 cm long.
Instructions
Step 1
Remove the headlights in which you plan to install xenon. To do this, lift the bonnet and use a screwdriver to unscrew the top screw counterclockwise.
Step 2
Place your hand behind the headlight. There is a small latch there. Feel for it, press down. This latch holds the headlamp in place, so pull it towards you when you hear a click. Near the radiator grill is the main headlight connector. It needs to be disconnected. Press down on the lever in the middle of the connector using force. When you hear a click, you can completely remove the headlamp from the socket.
Step 3
Remove the connector that attaches over the lamp. This is easy to do by pressing down on the clip at the bottom. Carefully remove the two connectors from the latch. All you should have in your hands is the plastic connector.
Step 4
Take the xenon lamp. Use a hacksaw or jigsaw to cut holes in the connector to match the tail of the lamp. This must be done from the side opposite to the latch. Then check how the lamp is inserted. Everything should fit snugly and not hang anywhere.
Step 5
While cutting, you removed the metal clip. Put it back on, cutting off the obstructing edges with pliers.
Step 6
Attach the ignition unit to the recess below the headlamp. It is better to fasten it with small self-tapping screws (no longer than 1 cm).
Step 7
Replace the rubber stopper on the lamp. To do this, cut a small hole in it. It should tightly fit xenon, then no moisture will be afraid of him.
Step 8
Connect all wires exactly. Put the headlight back in place, check your work by turning on the lights. Wish you a good road!
