Disadvantages - obvious jerking of the car when starting off, when switching in automatic mode, inability to slip when leaving a snowdrift, increased overheating of mechanisms when stopping with a gear engaged. Robotic gearboxes with shift paddles are often found on sports cars, as they allow you to accelerate faster than any other gearbox.

The preselective gearbox (DSG) is a more advanced robotic gearbox, which is designed as two gearboxes combined into one unit. One box includes even gears, the other includes odd gears. This principle of operation allows you to switch speeds so quickly that the smoothness of acceleration is not inferior to the variator. Various jerking when starting and accelerating are completely excluded. The only drawback is the complexity of the mechanism, resulting in its high cost and high repair costs.
