Instructions

Step 1

Purchase headlight protection, be sure to indicate to the seller the model of the car on which it is taken. Only in this case it will be possible to install it, since the automaker does not provide special mounts for alternative headlight protection. When choosing, pay attention to the material from which the protection is made. It is best to buy it from molded glass with a thickness of at least 3 mm - only then the protection will be able to effectively perform its functions, without becoming an obstacle to light rays, therefore, without reducing the light power of the optics.

Step 2

Prepare protection for installation, unpack it. Remove the protective film from it immediately before installation. Some motorists do not do this, mistakenly believing that this will make the protection even stronger, but high-quality equipment does not need such care - this will only reduce its light transmission, and hence the safety of movement at night.

Step 3

To install the protection, open the hood of the car and make sure that the headlights are firmly fixed in their sockets. Decide on the installation of protection on the right and left headlights, as well as on the top and bottom. All mountings must ideally fit the headlights - only in this case can further installation be carried out. As a rule, fasteners are special hooks made of strong and resilient material. Insert the lower mounts between the bumper and headlamp and secure them there. After that, wind the upper hooks and snap them on the base of the headlight itself. Check the tightness of the connection. The guard must not slip or wobble; it must be integral with the headlamp.

Step 4

Close the hood carefully. When closing, make sure that no metal parts touch the glass. If this happens, there will be a constant risk of damage to the protection when opening and closing the hood. Remove the protective cover periodically and wipe it and the inside of the headlamp to improve light transmission.
