The need to remove the bumper arises, as a rule, when it is damaged for subsequent repair. Those who want to save time and energy turn to specialists. Those who want to save money and learn how to repair their iron friend on their own try to do it on their own.
Instructions
Step 1
Dismantle the front bumper of the Peugeot 406 car, start by removing the headlights. Then lift up the front of the car and secure it with the stands. To remove the wheel arch liners, unscrew the screws holding them to the front bumper. Then separate the wheel arch liners from the bumper and remove the bolts that attach them to the body.
Step 2
If the car has fog lights, loosen the brackets and disconnect the electrical connectors with wires. Remove the bumper mounting bolts: two at the top and three at the bottom. Locate the fastening locks in the headlight slots and release them by turning them 90 degrees. Detach the front bumper from the vehicle by pulling it straight forward.
Step 3

Remove the panels securing the left and right corners of the interior trim of the trunk by unscrewing the screws that secure them. To remove the clips, remove the central pins that secure the clips themselves. Then remove the trunk side trim to gain access to the bumper mount.
Step 4
On hatchback vehicles, open the tailgate and remove the luggage compartment trim from the base and sides. Remove the caps securing the trunk side trim to the floor. Loosen the mounting brackets and remove the plastic glove box.
Step 5
On all car models, remove the ventilation assembly from the right rear corner of the trunk by unscrewing the screws that secure it. From the bottom of the car, unscrew the screws securing the fender liner to the bumper. Having bend the wheel arch liners away from the bumper, unscrew the nuts securing the ends of the bumper to the body, and then the nuts securing the bumper itself. From inside the trunk, unscrew the six upper bumper mounting nuts.
Step 6
Disconnect the connector with the wires for the license plate light located at the left reversing light. Remove the rear bumper by freeing its ends and the number plate wire O-rings.
