The Peugeot 406 continues to be in demand and continues to be the leader among D-class vehicles in our market. Like any car, the Peugeot 406 has a number of individual characteristics that should be taken into account when servicing, for example, when replacing external lighting bulbs.
Instructions
Step 1
Before replacing external light bulbs, check the fuse and electrical circuit for serviceability. Do not touch the glass envelope of the lamp with your hands, as a fingerprint, deposited on the reflector, impairs illumination. If, nevertheless, through carelessness, stains remain, remove them with a lint-free cloth moistened with alcohol. Choose new lamps of the same type as the ones you are replacing.
Step 2
To replace the headlight bulb, release it from the bracket and remove the rear cover. Disconnect the electrical connector from the back of the incandescent lamp. Squeezing the spring brackets used to secure the light bulb, fold them to the side and remove the latter.
Step 3
Install the new bulb so that the grooves of the headlight align with the protrusions on the socket. Secure it with spring clips. Reconnect the electrical connector and refit the headlight cover.
Step 4
To replace the fog lamp bulbs, support the raised front of the vehicle to the stands. Unscrew the screws and remove the plastic mudguard that is located directly under the fog lamp. Disconnect the electrical connector and, loosening the mounting bracket, remove the fog lamp.
Step 5
Unfasten the spring clip on the headlamp and remove the reflector from the housing. Disconnect the electrical connector. Remove the light bulb after squeezing the retaining spring. When installing a new bulb, match the protrusions on its socket with the slots in the headlight. Secure with a spring clip. Reassemble in reverse order.
Step 6
When replacing the front turn signal bulb, remove the protective cover from the battery. Turn the bulb holder counterclockwise and remove it from the back of the turn signal. To remove the lamp from the socket, push it down and in this position turn it clockwise or counterclockwise. Install in the reverse order of removal.
Step 7
To replace the tail light bulb, unscrew the screws at the rear of the luggage compartment. After removing the rear trunk trim, remove the clips and remove the upholstery. On some models, to gain access to the left lamp, you must unscrew the connector, remove the storage compartment and unscrew the side trunk trim to the side.
Step 8
Having released the latches, remove the cartridge with the bulb from the rear lamp. Click on it and turn it to remove it from the chuck. Install in reverse order.
