Winter is a headache for many car owners. In the cold, the car often refuses to start and does not want to drive at all. You can defeat the obstinate iron horse with the help of some techniques.

Step 1
Without starting the engine, turn on the high beam for 10 seconds, or for 1, 5 minutes - the low beam to warm up the battery. After that, depress the clutch pedal (on machines with a manual transmission, disconnect all electrical appliances of the on-board network). Do not touch the gas pedal on vehicles with an injector. And on cars with a carburetor, you need to use a suction, or start the car without a suction with the gas pedal fully depressed.
Step 2
After turning on the ignition, wait a little for the system to start pumping gasoline and only then can you start the car engine. After starting the engine, release the clutch pedal (gearbox must be in neutral). Otherwise, in addition to the engine, the starter will have to rotate the shafts and disks in the box, which is filled with thick, frozen oil, which will lead to additional difficulties.
Step 3
After three attempts to start the engine, stop trying and allow time for the battery to recover. If after the 9th attempt to start the car it was not possible, then the battery should be charged. In this case, you can use a "donor" car. Using wires from a car with a charged battery, connect them to the terminals of your car, not forgetting to keep the polarity. But in this operation there is a certain risk of harming the electronic system of both vehicles. Always refer to the instruction manual for the particular vehicle.
Step 4
A car with a manual gearbox can also be started by towing. However, this is one of the worst methods that can be advised. When trying to start the car from the tug, the timing belts are most often torn. If you have to start from a tug, then do not accelerate the car more than 20 km / h.
