The VIN-code of the car is recorded in the Certificate of ownership of the vehicle and the Technical passport of the car in the "VIN-code" column, and is also duplicated in the "Body No." column. The VIN-code of the car consists of seventeen characters, which can be either numbers or letters. VIN can be conventionally divided into 3 parts. Each character of the VIN number carries certain information:
1st, 2nd, 3rd characters of the VIN-number - the manufacturer's world index, intended for the manufacturer for the purpose of its identification. The code consists of three characters: the first means a geographic area, the second - the country in this area, the third - a specific manufacturer.

The 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th characters of the VIN number are descriptive parts. The second section of the VIN number consists of six characters describing the properties of the vehicle. What the signs will be, the sequence of their arrangement and their meaning is determined by the manufacturer. The manufacturer has the right to fill in unused positions with characters chosen at its own discretion. 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th symbols - reflect the body type, engine type, model, series, etc. The 9th character is the VIN check digit, which determines the correctness of the VIN number.

The 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th characters of the VIN number are a distinctive part of the car. The third part of the VIN is a third section, consisting of eight characters. The last four characters of this section must be numbers. The tenth character indicates the model year:
