Each car owner had a choice: OSAGO or CASCO? This is an extremely important question, as if you make the wrong choice, you can lose a lot of money in the future.
OSAGO - compulsory motor third party liability insurance. OSAGO was introduced in Russia back in 2003. Initially - as a social measure aimed at creating financial guarantees for compensation for damage caused by vehicle owners. OSAGO assumes obligations arising from the use of a vehicle, such as: causing harm to life, health, property. Insurance rates for OSAGO are set by the Government of the Russian Federation.
CASCO - insurance of a car or other means of transport against theft, damage or theft. A contract is drawn up with the insurance company and in the event of an event specified in the contract, the insurer undertakes to reimburse the losses caused as a result of this event.
First, you need to explain that OSAGO is necessary, without exception, to all drivers, but CASCO is not necessary. That is, the question is what to choose: only OSAGO or even CASCO.
There are not many differences between CASCO and OSAGO, but they are significant.
OSAGO tariffs are set by the Government and, consequently, they are not very high, and with CASCO the tariffs are higher, since they are set by the insurance company itself. In other words, OSAGO is state insurance, CASCO is commercial insurance.
Also, when choosing, you should take into account how you know how to drive and how much you take care of your car. If you want to choose from what, exactly, to insure your car or want to completely insure your car from everything, then CASCO is the best option for you.
In general, with CASCO you will be happy to pay for any scratch on the car, even though you have no idea who did it and have no evidence, and with CTP you only pay for the victim of an accident in which you are to blame. If you are not to blame for the accident and you only have CTP, then you will be paid only if the culprit has CTP or CASCO.
