Audi cars are known all over the world. Their distinctive feature is high quality and recognizable design. The popularity of the brand forced the management to expand the geography of production, today Audi is produced not only in Germany.
Today, the world-renowned manufacturer has seven main factories at its disposal, located in Europe and Asia. The head office is located in Ingolstadt, where cars are also produced. Another 6 factories are located in Germany (Neskarsulm), Hungary (Gyr), Slovakia (Bratislava), Belgium (Brussels), China (Changchun), India (Aurangabad).
Ingolstadt
Here, near Munich, the main production is concentrated: 800 Audi A3, the same A4 and about 2 hundred Audi TTs are produced daily. Also available in A3 and Q5 models. In addition to these vehicles, the plant produces vehicle kits for shipment to China (Chankchun, FAW-VW) and India (Aurangabad).
The plant covers an area of almost 2 million hectares. In addition to the headquarters, the office, there is a tool production, a marketing department, and a technology center. The latter is considered one of the best in the world, due to the presence of an aerodynamic installation capable of "reaching" a speed of 320 km / h and reducing the temperature to minus 60 ° C. The installation is used free of charge by members of the corporation - Wolksvagen, Seat. For others who wish, a fee of 3000 euros per hour is set.
The conveyor of the plant is distinguished by a high level of technical equipment. The degree of its automation is close to 100%. Only at the end of the conveyor is human control used: employees check the build quality after robots and eliminate possible flaws. Every minute of the conveyor operation here is truly golden: an unforeseen stop for this period will cost 13,000 euros. However, the firm's management is not a supporter of sweatshops and is attentive to workers. For example, when it turned out that the position of the body on the conveyor at 45 degrees is harmful to the spine, the assembly line was immediately reconstructed, and now the cars are located strictly horizontally.
European factories and Russia
In the German city of Hecarsulm, A4, A5, A6-A8, R8, Cabriolet and car kits for Indians and Chinese are produced. The Hungarian branch produces (meaning assembly) A3 Cabriolet, TT Roadster, TT Coupe, RS 3 Sportback, and also produces engines. Belgian manufacturers are engaged in the production of A3, and since 2010 - A1. Q7 is produced in Bratislava.
In Russia, the production of Audi in Kaluga (on the basis of WV) was already established, but it was soon phased out. The question of resuming production of the A6-A8, Q5 and Audi Q7 models is now being considered.
