So, the driving school is behind. Received the long-awaited rights. The car has already been selected by you and will be purchased soon. It seems that all that remains is to get behind the wheel in order to fully become a participant in the road traffic as a driver. However, in reality everything is not so simple. As always, there is a small "but". Before leaving on the road, your car must be registered with the State Traffic Inspectorate, or simply with the traffic police.
Instructions
Step 1
Before you go there, you will need to collect certain documents, without which you will simply be denied registration of the car.
Step 2
You must receive a vehicle passport (hereinafter referred to as PTS) from the seller at the dealership, in which all registration operations will be recorded. This is the most important document.
Step 3
The car dealer writes out a sales contract in your name and affirms it with his seal. Be careful not to miss this moment.
Step 4
The seller is obliged to give you transit numbers so that you can get to the check-in point. If you were not given the numbers, then the corresponding record is entered into the TCP.
Step 5
You need to issue an OSAGO insurance policy in your name. Otherwise, any traffic police officer who stops you can spoil the festive mood.
Step 6
However, if you are the owner of a vehicle of category C or D, in addition to everything, you will need to register the car at the local military registration and enlistment office. If you do not do this, the inspectors will have the right to refuse your registration of the vehicle.
Step 7
When you have collected all the above documents, you can safely go to the traffic police. In order not to get lost in the endless corridors and a huge number of offices, there should be a registration scheme at the entrance.
Step 8
Submit documents to the inspector. Data validation should be limited in time. A maximum of half an hour, then you can safely rush a careless employee. Then the inspector checks whether the car meets the safety requirements and whether the marking of the serial parts is genuine. This procedure is also limited in time. Maximum 10-20 minutes.
Step 9
After that, as a rule, a check by a criminalist was required, but over time it became a thing of the past. However, if the inspector has serious doubts about the authenticity of the numbers, then the criminalist will most likely have to visit.
Step 10
On average, the entire registration procedure takes about three and a half hours. This does not include the time you spend walking from office to office.
Step 11
The inspector, having accepted your documents, makes a note of the time when he took them. For delays, he will be responsible to the management. If you feel that the process has been delayed, you have the right to file a complaint about the inspector's actions.
