Dealership pricing for new cars depends on many factors. And if you are going to buy a car, it would be nice to figure out where the dealer clearly inflates the cost, what free gifts really are, and how to save money during promotions.

Cars at "gray" prices

Large fluctuations in car prices vary from dealer to dealer. If the dealer is unofficial - "gray", the cost of the car can vary greatly, both upward and downward. This happens due to the fact that unofficial dealers buy out a large batch of cars at once and can set prices for them on their own. Plus, they work with credit institutions, less often with banks, and the final cost of a car on a loan can be very different from the declared one. When buying a car from an unofficial dealer on credit, immediately ask for the total cost of the car to be calculated. Cases when, at the declared price of a car of 350 thousand, it rose to a million at the final calculation, are not uncommon.

Everyone is the same

Official dealers adhere to the prices set by the carmaker. Sometimes this is tough regulation, for example, for AvtoVAZ products. Which, by the way, became the reason that many large dealers began to refuse to sell VAZ cars. After all, there is practically nothing to earn there, and such machines rarely come for service. Profit comes only from sales, and now there is a big downturn in the new car market.

But if the basic cost of the car is the same for each dealer, the markups for additional equipment can be very different. It is not profitable for dealers to sell an empty car. It is much more pleasant to sell a car with additional options installed. Arriving at a car dealership and looking at the cars in the showroom, note that the cars are already there with additional equipment - alarms, parking sensors, toning, music, etc. And the cost of such a car immediately rises noticeably. But such a car can be bought quickly enough.

Expensive gifts

The biggest attraction for potential buyers is gifts. When buying a car, dealers often "give" a set of winter tires, a video recorder, car mats and other pleasant bonuses. At the word "gifts" the buyer loses vigilance and cannot adequately understand that all these gifts are already included in the cost of the car. As a rule, from 5 to 50 thousand rubles are pledged for gifts. But you can refuse gifts and persistently ask for a discount. And you can be sure that it will be made for you exactly for the amount of gifts.

The time when all dealers are ready to seriously discount car prices begins in November-December. Car dealerships get rid of the car of the outgoing model year. Cars can be sold at cost to sell off the lineup. Moreover, it is during this period that you can look for the best price - car dealers begin to compete with each other in terms of “generosity”. Such a global sale can last for several months until all cars are sold. After all, customers are in no hurry to buy, but wait for sellers to lower prices to a minimum.
