The name is not accidental, because the change in torque occurs here automatically, depending on the preset settings. There are schemes, among which 4x4 all-wheel drive cars are in the lead, as well as somewhat less aggressive cars with front-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive. Of course, transmissions in which a different layout of the driving axles is implemented also have a different scheme for organizing the process of movement of the vehicle. So, for example, front-wheel drive cars have constant velocity joints (constant velocity joints), which are necessary to transfer force and power to the driving wheels. Rear-wheel drive vehicles have a propeller shaft for the same purpose.
